Which one sounds more correct/better?

Hello! I would like to know which option sounds more correct/better:

1) He went for a walk in the fresh April morning.
2) He went for a walk in the fresh morning on one day in April.

The goal is to convey the point that it was April`s fresh morning when he went for a walk. The exact date is unknown or just irrelevant.
