Which one is true ?

I have a question. which one of these sentences is correct ? here is the situation; we are writing an article and we need to use this sentence;

1) 3 of the machines placed here.
2) 3 number of machines placed here.

is there any usage like " x number of ...." ?

What about ; " Three machines are placed here" or "Three piece of machines are placed here"

machines are not pieces.. s

Three machines are placed here. OK. There are three units, probably identical.

Three pieces of the machines are placed here.
The machines come in parts. The parts (pieces) are not the complete machine.

If there are more than 3:
Three of the machines are placed here. The rest are put in the next room.
