Which one is the correct ussage?

Could somebody tell me which of the following sentences are correct?

I thought you knew who she was.
If the above sentence is correct, could somebody tell me why the following versions of a sentence exist?

i) Did you find out who she is?
ii)Dis you find out who she was?

Does it mean that if the situation is current, sentence i should be used and if the situation is a distance situation sentence ii should be used? How long the time is when we consider the situation is distance?[:^)]

  • e.
  • 'I found out yesterday who she was yesterday'.
