Which one is more correct to use between 'usage' and 'use'? Are both fine?

I see where the problem is coming from. Is the use of 'usage' and 'use' correct in the below sentences? In the first I'm simply saying that in general I'm always confused to choose between 'will' and 'would'. In the second I merely saying that the use of 'had been', in the context of some sentence above. Do you get me now?

Duh, sorry, I'm being very slow! I thought you were actually asking questions about the use of "would", "will" and "had been", and that you had got mixed up between this thread and another one where those words had previously been discussed.
