Which one is more correct + Since or as?

Hi,

"Based on our convercation last night, I thought it would be necessary to talk about that issue since or as it affects our future together"

Or

"Based on our convercation last night.. since it's a serious issue i thought it would be necessary to talk about it(....)

Thanks

" "Since" is often use as a synonym for "because" and you'll hear it quite often, but some people still disapprove of using it that way.

Actually, the best choice is "because."

Unless you mean you want to talk about that aspect of the issue that relates to your future - in that case, use "as."
