Which one is it? Clap or Tap

Hi teahers,

What would you describe this action?

If a child's left hand is clapping your right hand, and her right hand is clapping your left hand at the same time, like she's playing happily, would this action be called "She is clapping your hands"? Or "tap" is more appropriate?

Thank you.

Hi Dimsumexpress,

Thanks for the link. I think I am not good at describing this action. It's not high five or high ten.

It's more like when you spread both of your hands out horizontally (not raise your hands up), so both the baby's hands are "clapping" your hands (palms to palms). She's having fun.

Most "clap hands" I see is the person clapping his own hands, but

I don't believe what you described can be called "clapping". You can only clap with your own hands.

I have no idea!
