Which one is correct?

1."NASA has had an autonomous spaceship explore the universe recently."

or

2."NASA has had an autonomous spaceship explored the universe recently."

-----

My English teacher insists that the second is true because an autonomous spaceship is an object but I think it's the first is correct because it's not in passive role.
