which one is correct

hello, everyone

Is it natural and correct to say:

“How well is Tom naping today?”

Can i use “well” to talk about nap? is it natural?

or, it is better to say:

“How long is Tom naping today?”

It's grammatical, but not natural. Consider that doing something well is doing it skillfully. It's anomalous to speak of being skillful at sleeping.

"How long is Tom napping today?" is somewhat less anomalous, but still not completely natural, at least not to my ear.

I don't think so, because the quality of someone's napping is not something we would normally ask about. We might just use the verb "sleep".

Did you sleep well?
Have you been sleeping well (these past few days)?

With the noun "nap" you might say this after some

There are a surprising number of Google hits for "napping well" in relevant contexts, apparently from native speakers, and mostly, as far as I can see, in reference to babies. I wonder if Tom might be a baby or ve
