Which one is correct

Hi teachers,

I heard several versions of these:

It brought tears to my eye
It brought tears to my eyes
It brought a tear to my eye
It brought a tear to my eyes

Which one is correct? plural eyes, plural tears

Thanks

There may not be a correct version, but there are two wrong ones there: "It brought tears to my eye" and "It brought a tear to my eyes".

In my opinion, "It brought a tear to my eye" is right if you mean it figuratively, that it moved you emotionally. "It brought tears to my eyes" is literal.
