Which one is correct?

Hi teachers,
This is the context:
The postman smiled. Is the gentleman ill? he asked. I thought quickly. Yes. But this is a lady, not a gentleman. I’m a doctor, and she’s ill. Take her hand, so I can help her better.

Which one is correct?
According to the doctor, what should the postman do to help 'her'?
According to the doctor, what should the postman do in order to help 'her'?

Thanks in advance.

Both of those structures are fine, but they do not address the text unless the doctor is a lady: the doctor, not the 'lady', is being helped by the postman, I think. According to the doctor, what should the postman do to help him? According to the doctor, what should the postman do in order to help him?

Hi Mister Micawber,
Thank you for your reply.
When I was posting it I thought about using 'him', the doctor, but then I switched my mind.
