Which one is correct?


To make a gypsum wall panelling with existing paint finish all around the walls / existing walls to be covered with gypsum board and make a gypsum wall panelling with existing paint finish.

Neither one makes a whole heckovalot of sense to me. I take "existing" to refer to things as they are before the job begins. " The rest is pretty much nonsense.

The only thing I follow is, "existing walls to be covered with gypsum board." The rest is pretty much nonsense.

I've never heard gypsum board referred to as "panelling."

Actually, the scope of work is; the existing pantry to be converted into a office room, so we need to cover these walls with either gypsum board / timber panels, and apply paint on the panelling, but the colour of the paint to be matched the existing finish

Got it! We'd say "wood panelling" in the US. So assuming the existing color does not resemble wood, whatever you put up is going to have to be painted. (I know that sounds like a crazy structure, but it's surprisingly common.)

The thing I'm unclear on is whether you're considering panelling only the lower portion of the walls. And if so, would you apply gypsum board over the existing

Panelling, I am considering from floor to ceiling. The existing wall is tile finish, so we have to cover these area with plywood board / gypsum board as the room need to be converted into a office room.

Ah. I didn't think about plywood. But even finish grade (as opposed to construction grade) wouldn't give you as smooth a surface for painting as would the gypsum board, would it?

I should think either would be difficult to attach to ceramic tile, if that's the case.
