Which one is correct?

1. I'm going to go watch a baseball game tonight.

2. I'm going to go watching a baseball game tonight.

The first sentence has two verb, go and watch, so I think the second is correct even though it is usually not used.

if there is 'and' omitted between go and watch, then it makes sense. Give me an explanation.
