Which one is better?

Hi, I would like to know which of the two sentences below is better/more correct.

A train pass becomes invalid after 10 years of unused.
A train pass becomes invalid if it is not used for 10 years.

How would you correct #1?

And for #2:
A train pass becomes invalid if it is not used for 10 years.

"Becomes" is an dynamic verb happens at a point in time while"is not used for 10 years" is over a duration. How can they be used in the same conditional sentence?

eg A train pass becomes invalid after it is unused for 10 years .
