Which one do you prefer?

I have several versions. Which do you prefer and what influences (determines??) your choices?

He has been active as a facilitator, served as secretary and editor. He was webmaster for the seminar.

I think,

All of those are poorly written, IMO.

I agree with you that those sentences I posed the question with?? are poorly written but why did you have the article in front of facilitator and not the rest of the nouns that came after that?

The ones without article are titles and don't need the article.

He is a manager and partner.

He is manager and a partner.
