Which one are natural?

The rain clouds are going away The rain clouds are breaking (up)

All are possible. For some reason it sounds more natural to me to say The clouds are going away or The clouds are breaking up rather than using rain clouds. Maybe because it would be obvious within context that they were rain clouds, and therefore unnecessary to specify.
