Which of those phrases in parentheses using 'celebration' should I use?

Which of those phrases in parentheses using 'celebration' should I use? I'm confused/ Please help me.

The founding anniversary of our university is usually a two-day celebration/event. In the morning of the (celebration's first day, first-day celebration), there is a grand float parade. In the evening of the (celebration's first day, first-day celebration), a basketball tournament is held in our school gymnasium. In the morning of the (celebration's second day, second-day celebration), a historical play is staged. I don't have a problem with "in the morning/evening" in the above.
