Which of the following sentences are the longest form of the bold sentence?!

Hello All,
Which of the following sentences are the longest form of the bold sentence?!
"The London underground is the oldest system because it was opened in 1863."
"The London underground is the oldest system because it had opened in 1863."

"because" does not quite work here. Also, I don't understand what you mean by "longest" form.

Ignoring those issues, the normal phrasing would be "... it opened in 1863".

Thanks so much.I meant the reduction form of adverb clause.
I have some questions:

1- Can railway systems opened by itself ? used active instead of passive form?!
2- If we use "The London underground is the oldest system because it was opened in 1863." so can we reduced it to "The London underground is

The system opened itn 1863. That is correct. It did not of, course, open by itself.

But we shouldn't. It's not natural.
