I am confused when to use 'fruit" and "fruits".

Could somebody explain to me"?

Thanks.

Let me give you a very short answer.

The word 'fruits' is rarely used by native speakers. If you just say 'fruit', your English will be fine.

Durians are sweet fruit.
If I refer to the contents in a durian fruit, can I refer to them as seeds. I wonder because seeds would imply there is no flesh.

If the 'contents' of the fruit consist of seeds and flesh, then don't refer to the contents as merely seeds.

eg I ate a durian.
eg I ate a durian, except for the skin.
