Which means or meant?

Hi. Which is correct, means or meant? Let's say this is part of an short essay on a certain person. I think both can work depending on context (not sure, though). Thank you in advane for your help.

He worked there two hours in the morning and another two hours in the afternoon for one year, which means (meant?) he was a part-time employee during that time.

Both are correct. If you are in a narrative mode with auctorial distance, "meant" is better. If you are in an expository mode, "means" is better.
