Which meaning is more appropriate?
“You protected me as well as any man could have, and better than most.”
Hi. The “you” is a woman. “Me” is a male hostage. Does the sentence mean women are not expected to protect a man in this world but she protected this man very well?
Or should I stick to the literal meaning “no man could have protected me better than you”?
