Which is the correct form?

Hi!

Please tell me which is the correct form :

Should we say :

1) "Check if there are chalk there" or "check if there is chalk there"?

2) "This side has a nice view" or "this side have a nice view"?

3) "The group brings games" or "the group bring games"

4) My family is or my family are" ?

5) In the sentence: "She always came over on short notice", the idea is: "she always goes to someone's house without advising previously" ?

First of all thanks for your attention. Well,what I need to know concerning to my doubts is:

Is it wrong if I say:

1) "There are chalk over there" (because I suppose there is no plural form for the word chalk) ?;

2) "... this side has a nice view" ;

3) "...This group brings
