Which is the correct expression?

the earth's land area or the land area of the earth? can be both OK? Which is better?

I don't think you can use the verb "cover" for your sentence.

Asia not Asian (Asian is either something or someone of Asia)

Asia takes up one-third of the Earth's (total) land mass.

Can't think up of a better verb than 'take up'
