Which is the correct article?

A. I managed to fulfill both roles as fourth grade teacher and guidance counselor.

B. I managed to fulfill both roles as a fourth grade teacher and a guidance counselor.
C. I managed to fulfill both roles as a fourth grade teacher and guidance counselor.
D. I managed to fulfill both roles as a fourth gradeteacher and the guidance counselor of the school.


Note: There are many fourth grade teachers, but only one guidance counselor in the school.

1. Which are correct?
2. If two or more are possible, how are they different from one another?

I would prefer as you suggested, that is to begin with 'I managed to fulfill roles both as...'. I would very much appreciate your comments on this.

Sounds odd. They sound like titles, and we don't usually use titles in such a statement.

B. I managed to fulfill roles both as a fourth grade teacher and a guidance counselor.

Sounds fine.

And putting the article 'a' before the fourth grade teacher makes it more unusual because it suggests there are two or more individuals having this title?

On a second thought, I was wondering if using 'I managed to fulfill' could have more positive impact than 'I fulfilled' in the sense that I was able to perform the role despite difficulties. Would you agree?

For example:

Despite my busy schedule, I managed to fulfill roles both as a fourth grade teacher and a guidance counselor.
