Which is grammitically correcter?

0 Hi there02br
02br
00 For example I am talking about a man called John.02br
02br
00 John had an accident the last year.02br
00 John has an accident.02br
02br
00 Which is grammtically correcter? I've read that the Present Perfect is used only for something that has happened in the past and still continuting, for example:-02br
02br
00 You and I have known each other since 8 years.( and we still know each other)02br
02br
00 from what I understood, I should say I had read that the present...etc not have.02br
02br
00 and my last question is02br
02br
00 Have John made an accident last year? I've seen on english site that it's grammitically correct but I doubt about it because I've been told by English native speaker that there are people who doesn't know the grammar and make wrong teneses despite that they are native speakers. This site says that last year is different from the last year. so I don't have a clue.02br
