Which is grammatically correct?

Hello, teachers.

I have a question about tense.
Which of the following two sentences is grammatically correct?

#1 Didn't you learn more when things did not go well than when everything ran smoothly?

#2 Haven't you learned more when things did not go well than when everything ran smoothly?

To be more specific, I wonder if you can use "Haven't you learned" in the sentence.

Thank you very much.
