Which is correct?(Tenses)

Let's say that a match will be starting at 8 and now is 7:55. Someone comes and say:

"-Has the match started?
-No, it hasn't started yet."

Is this conversation correct? or I can use this?:

"-Did the match start?
-No, it didn't."
