Which is correct: dimensions index or dimension index?

I would like to give an index a unique name. I am considering:
1. Dimension Index
2. Dimensions Index

I like 2. Which one do you believe, or know, is a more proper name?
If you have any other suggestions for a name...please feel free....

Also, what issues am I having difficulty with? As I would like to do further investigation into the problem.

Another naming convention, I use, that I'm not sure about is preceding the word register with plural words: sales register, purchases register, etc. Any suggestions on that will be reassuring.

The normal structure is singular noun when it is used as an adjective: shoe store, photo album, ten-minute coffee break. However, there are exceptions: savings account. Being a grammarian, I'd suggest you go with the norm.
