Which is correct and why

I have been asked to explain the difference between the following
A) "lets go to play ping pong"
and
B) "Let's go and play ping pong"

Can anyone explain why B is more correct that A?

Top answer

Neither is 'more correct'. Both are fine in informal English. A makes it more clear that travelling is involved.
