which is correct? "Afternoon usually works for me" or "Afternoons usually work for me"

1. "Afternoon usually works for me"
2. "Afternoons usually work for me"

The first sentence doesn't seem right, but I'm not sure. Which is correct? Are both correct?

1. I like to ride my bike in the afternoon.
2. I like to ride my bike in the afternoons.

Which one is correct? I think the first sentence sounds better, but I'm not sure.

1. I'm usually available on friday afternoons.
2. I'm usually available on friday afternoon.

I think the first sentence is correct, because I googled this one, but I'm not sure about the above two...
