"Your term papers are due on May 20th"
A) You must check your term papers on May 20th
B) You must submit your term papers on the 20th of May.
C) Your term papers must be sent on May 20th.
D) Your term papers must be marked on May 20th.
E) You must mark your term papers on the 20th of May.

It means you should send/hand in the papers so that they arrive on - or before - 20 May. Obviously the circumstances will tell you whether they can arrive before 20 May as well as on it. d

It means you should send/hand in the papers so that they arrive on - or before - 20 May.
Obviously the circumstances will tell you whether they can arrive before 20 May as well as on it.

No.
I assume A) through E) are attempts to explain the meaning of "Your term papers are due on May 20th". None of them is equivalent to that.

One equivalent is You must submit your term papers before May 21st. (Otherwise, they will be considered late.)

I'm assuming that "submit" means to have the term paper
