Which is grammatically correct?
A. Careless driving causes many unexpected accidents these days.
B. Careless driving is caused many unexpected accidents these days.

They are both correct grammatically. Only A is logical and makes sense, however. B is illogical because unexpected accidents are (usually) the result and not the cause of careless driving.

They are both correct grammatically. Only A is logical and makes sense, however.

Grammatically, both sentences are correct. However, I believe that you will want to use sentence A. Here's why:

Careless driving causes many unexpected accidents these days means:
Careless driving --> (leads to) --> unexpected accidents

Yes, fivejedjon, that is absolutely correct. Without the "by", statement B is incorrect, and with the "by" it is illogical.

Ironic that "carelessness" is the topic of the sentence.
