Which is correct?

Are both versions correct? Do they mean the same thing?

You had a harder time agreeing to that than I did to this. When I asked if he could live with us, you were reluctant at first, but when you asked if she could live with us, I said okay.

I had a harder time getting you to agree to this than you had getting me to agree to that. When I asked if he could live with us, you were reluctant at first, but when you asked if she could live with us, I said okay.
