Which is correct?

hi, everybody! I'm a junior high school English teacher from China. I have two questions and I hope anyone of you can help me answer them. 1. We all know that Chinese students usually study very hard for long hours/time. 2. Here take English language learning as/for an example. In these two sentences above, Can you tell me which words are better, hours or time, as or for. Thank you!

Many thanks. But why don't we say many hours or a few hours instead of long hours?

Sorry, long hours is OK too; I misread your slash in the original. These are fine:

Chinese students usually study very hard for long hours.
Chinese students usually study very hard for many hours.
Chinese students usually study very hard for few hours.
(This would normally be realized as 'don't study hard for many hours')
Chinese students usually study
