Which expression si better or more comon between ' it slips out of my mind" and ' I lost the train of thought?

It slipped my mind = I forgot about it, at least momentarily. I lost my train of thought = I became distracted and can't remember what I was going to say. They are not interchangeable.

It slipped my mind = I forgot about it, at least momentarily.
I lost my train of thought = I became distracted and can't remember what I was going to say.

They are not interchangeable.
