Which is better?

"The base 2002 BMW model's price was set for XXX amount of Euro"

or

"The price for the base 2002 BMW model was set for XXX amount of Euro"

Both basically mean the same, but which one is better to use?

For a 12 year old car, we usually refer to its residual market value. For that, we don't say " price was set...".

Write it in a way, by which the reader understands the topic from start.

In this case, the second statement will do.

Is this would be correct?

Just an example (price is a random) "The original price for the base 2002 BMW model was set for about 25,000 Euro, back in 2002"

With that sentence i want to say how much it cost in 2002.

Also i have a doubt about the second "the"

Maybe this sentence should be like this "The original price for a base 2002 BMW model was set for about 25,

Are you absolutely sure about that? Both sounded very awkward to my ears.

How about this then...

"The base 2002 BMW model was priced at 25,000 Euro, back in 2002."

Also are you a native speaker?

Then you are changing the sentence.

No, but I have been practicing, writing and speaking English longer than some of the natives alive.

Now your sentence is incorrect. You should add the "BMW" after 2002 because it would look silly in your way, because we should include the maker's name all the time.

It would be the same as saying "The base model of a 2002 A8 was....". If a listener knows what the A8 is, he would know that i'm talking about the Audi model, but it looks better when we add the maker's name (everyone does).

Yes and no. For people who know about European cars or people who are interested in buying a used one, they are usually knowledgeable everything about the model, and 325, 528, A6 or
