Which is better?

Which do you think is better? Which sounds more natural?
Both mean the same.

(1) We had a nice conversation at the coffee shop yesterday.

(2) Yesterday we talked a lot at the coffee shop. It was a good time.

(2) Yesterday we talked a lot at the coffee shop. It was a good time.

There is nothing wrong with (2), but my vote definitely goes to (1).

Hi guys,

It was a good time. This doesn't seem idiomatic to me. I'd expect 'We had a good time'.
