How should one use which with is and are, as in...

Which of these ARE/IS correct ?

Of these theories, which ARE/IS correct?

Yes, there's a very simple rule.

Is one correct? Then "Which (of these) is correct?"
Is more than one correct? Then "Which (of these) are correct?"

The same with the theories. If there is only one that is correct, use the singular "is." If the possibility existst that two or more or corect, then use the plural "are."
