Which is a correct answer?

Hi! I am an English learner in Tokyo.
Which do you think is a correct anwer?

Cook Robin was last seen (alive, living) around midnight yesterday, so I think he was killed some time after that.

Sorry, I should choose "living" or "alive." as a correct word in this sentence.

I can't think of any logical reason. It's just not idiomatic (not something that a native speaker would naturally say).
