Which I had overlooked the first time [around the room]

The protagonist have amnesia. He is staying at the house of one of the protagonist's sisters.

Something caught my eye.
Seated there at the desk, I commanded a view of far wall, on which, among other things, hung an antique cavalry saber, which I had overlooked the first time around the room.
<Nine Princes in Amber" of The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny>
I think "around the room" modifies "the first time."
So I'd like to know "being" is implied before "around."
Thank you in advance for your help.
