Which are your favorite films

1) Which are your favorite films that came out in the last three decades.

Is that question asking:

a) Among the films that came out in the last three decades, which are your favorites?
or:
b) Among your favorite films which came out in the last three decades?

Incidentally, would you use 'which' or 'what' in that question?

Gratefully,
Navi.

The difference seems pretty hair-splitting and would hardly result in different answers, as far as I can see. For me, (a) is the natural interpretation, but I am not thrilled by the sentence.
