Which accent should this child acquire?

My sister's baby is now 3 years old and is about to go to kindergarten.
This is Asia so do not expect any teachers to have a nice accent, but I do.
We do not have money to put him in an international school.

Should I make it go against the flow by my teaching?
I am afraid that the baby can get quite confused learning two conflicting accents together.

What should I do? Let them follow the herd?

Children all over the world grow up bilingual or even trilingual with no difficulty. In other words, children don't get confused when they are exposed to multiple languages, so multiple accents of the same language are not going to be a problem.

Have to agree with the above, the accent doesn't really matter to kids. My niece grew up in Honk Kong, going to a local school, but her English is native-level and with what can only be described as an international accent.

How did she do that? I notice most of those children end up having a strong local accent which is too coarse to here.

From what I gather she spent most of her time there in a very "expat" situation. Most of her friends semmed to be American or European and likewise my brother and his wife's friends. I think the social group tends to have a big impact on kids in situationa like these.
