which????

0Hi 02br
02br
00There is a sentence: "Who knows which of us will be the first to go" I'd like to ask why "which of us" instead of "who of us" I would write "WHO". As far as I know "which" refers to things and "who" to people.02br

0 Hi Newguest02br 02br 00You have brought up a very interesting point. 02i 02br 02br 00It is normally used in questions instead of 01i 00who of,02i 00 which is sometimes used as well. I don't think there are exact rules with regard to choosing the right pronoun.

00You have brought up a very interesting point. It is not true that 01i00which02i00 cannot refer to people; on the contrary, it very often does, particularly when followed by 01i00of02i00:02br

00Hmm, interesting. I didn't know I can use "which" referring to people. But if I used the word "who" twice in the sentence I wrote, would it be wrong or would it just sound strange? Thanks!0-
