I just want to help, but... yeah. I don't even know whether you really appreciate that I come by, or if you'd rather just be left alone.

1) Would you phrase anything differently or is it OK as is?

2) If I omitted the last part "...or if you'd rather...", would "if" then be more natural than "whether"?

"I don't even know if you really appreciate that I come by."
