Whether you appreciate that I come by, or if...

A guy is going through a difficult time. His friend tries to be there for him and often comes by to visit him at his house. During a conversation between them, the friend says:

I just want to help, but... yeah. I don't even know whether you really appreciate that I come by, or if you'd rather just be left alone.

Is this correct and natural? Thank you.
