Whether to use "is" or "are" in this sentence

"Expert design insight, coupled with new and innovative products, and a commitment to service, is why consumers choose us."

Please help with the use of is in this sentence... then again, maybe we just need to put the "end" at the beginning, such as Customers choose us because of our...?? thank you!!
