It is thought that some people’s successes mostly depend on their luck rather than their hard work. However, I do not agree with this view.

On the one hand, I believe only determined and patient people can attain their goals and become world-class in any fields they take part in. In fact, there are many cases prove that people still success no matter how unlucky there are. For instance, Thomas Alva Edison failed in experiment in materials thousands times before inventing successfully the light bulb. Another typical example is Nguyen Ngoc Ky, who has gained a reputation for the first person to write by feet in Vietnam Genius Book. Despite having two paralyzed two arms after an illness when he was 4 years old and living in a poor country, he earned a bachelor degree in Literature Faculty. After that, he became a teacher for disabled children, a writer, and a famous motivational speaker.

On the other hand, there are several factors apart from luck contributing people’s achievements. First, people cannot become successful without industriousness. According to Malcolm Gladwell, if a person wants to become an expert, he has to put 10,000 hours of practicing. Second, luck only contributes to some short-term moments. For example, people who win the lottery is purely rely on luck because they do not have to do anything to earn it. However, such of lucks rarely repeated and they cannot always expect from them.

In conclusion, to have a meaningful or successful life, people need to be determined and industrious.
