Is it correct to start a sentence this way? Could you give me an example?
What's the difference between whether/if..

Do not combine "whether" with "if."

Whether if you arrive late, you will miss the beginning of the movie.

The word are not the same, though sometimes they can be interchangeable.

If you arrive late, you will miss the beginning of the movie.

Whether you arrive late, you will miss the beginning of the movie. That doesn't make sense.
