Where/who?

Where is the leak or who is the leak?

Could someone tell me the difference between this two sentences?. I am afraid I have a cloud on mind my that prevents me from seeing clearly.

Just from experience... it sounds to me like where is the leak is talking about a specific place while who is the leak refers to a person. Can you see where I am coming from?

Not sure. I think I know where you have been but I can't see where you are coming from.

The simplest advice is this:

'Who' refers to a person: Who is that girl? Who ate all of the pies? Who can help me? Who left the tap running, there is water leaking everywhere?

'Where' refers to places: Where does the girl live? Where can I buy a pie?
Where is the leak? My laptop is not where I left it.

Exception: It would be poor usage but one might ask 'who is
