Where was the webster pronuncition from? Was it just from a dialect of somewhere in British before the US being founded? Or else were there some people that formulated it willfully just in order to appear this pronuncition differed from British one? Or was this pronunciation an accent of British and had been varying gradually until it was expressly stipulated by webster?
