Where to place 'previously'?

I washed it with soap and water as I've done previously.
I washed it with soap and water as I've previously done.

Which is correct to place the adverb 'previously'?
If both are OK, which is more natural?
I was wondering if I should add an article 'a' before 'soap'. Should I add it?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Just a follow-up question, why is an article not needed in the sentence? 'Soap' is countable and normally we put an article for this kind of noun, from what I've read. Could you please clarify? Thanks.

No, soap is uncountable-- that's why we need a counter for it: a bar of soap.

I see. That makes sense. But sometimes, I believe it is implied, isn't it?

For example:
a Coke = a bottle of Coke
a soap = a bar of soap

Not here, and not generally with soap in my neck of the woods.

Okay, thank you for that clarification. I'll take note of that.
